Basic driving concepts

  1. Driving an automatic car involves the use of the right foot to switch between the accelerator pedal and brake pedal and both hands on the Steering Wheel.

  2. A vehicle with manual transmission requires the use of both feet, right foot to switch between the accelerator pedal and brake pedal and left for the clutch pedal that is used along with the gear stick ( a hand control) to shift gears according to speed.

  3. The mirrors are placed in front of you to allow you to watch each side of the car in all directions. The turn signals and brake lights show other drivers in which direction you will move and if you are slowing down.

  4. Seatbelts and air bags protect you and your passengers in an accident. Always keep your sight straight on the road, use the lights to make the road and other objects visible at night and in bad weather.

  5. You must obtain a driving license to drive a car legally, usually this requires you have a certain age, pass a written exam and demonstrate that you are capable to drive safely.
